title: Fat Spout. Pour Me Out.
20cm high x 27cm wide x 14cm deep
I know I've been doing lots of functional ceramics lately. I think I'm obsessed with having beautiful, handmade things around me all the time.
Fat Spout. Pour Me Out has a crackle glaze with blue tributaries at the rims. There's a big dribble of glaze under the spout like a pearl, suspended.
title: Comfort jugs
Thrown porcelain
Mat duck-egg blue lower glaze
Unglazed, oxidized stripe
Clear crackle upper glaze
Height = 14.5 and 9 cm
I like the silken feel of the thick, mat glaze. These colours are not my usual choice but I like the cosy, homely mood they evoke. The unglazed, raw stripe has become a soft orange colour which creates a bright and happy tone. They look they're waiting for a bunch of daisys to be plonked in them and set on a gingham table cloth. Coupled with the traditional curvacious form the jugs become symbols of comfort.

15 cm high x 15 cm wide
Starlight Twist is a great success. This lid fits so perfectly, I'm very proud of it. It's a perfect pot for adding scented bath-salts.
Bought by Gretchen as a gift for her friend Carmen's 40th birthday
Title: When Life Gives You Lemons
Hand-built porcelain.
October 2012
Crack glaze under translucent glaze.
26cm hight x 15cm wide x 7cm deep
26cm hight x 15cm wide x 7cm deep
This jar was inspired by my bountiful lemon tree at Erawaan Escape.
I love it when the glaze gathers into a jewel of a drip, like it has on both sides of this jar.
